Flow Launcher Home Page and Recent Result History
Flow Launcher can display recent or history results depending on its configuration and version. Review those options separately from active search results, especially on a shared screen. A result shown before typing is not necessarily evidence that a new search was performed.
Steps to follow
- Open settings and review the home-page and history-result options available in your installed version.
- Run a harmless app query, close the search window, and reopen it to see what appears before you type.
- Inspect a recent result’s context menu and compare it with the same item found through a fresh query.
- Adjust history visibility to suit your privacy needs and verify the behavior after restarting Flow.
Check the result
The empty-query window displays the intended set of results, and context actions correspond to the selected item.
Limits and common pitfalls
Hiding history from the interface is not automatically the same as deleting stored data. Review the relevant controls before making a privacy claim.
Make the check repeatable
Use a harmless test query before screen sharing or recording a tutorial. Recent items may reveal app names, paths, or work context. When troubleshooting unexpected history behavior, provide the option states and app version rather than a screenshot containing sensitive recent results.
Questions and answers
Why do recent results appear when the home page is disabled?
History visibility has its own configuration. The 2.1.4 release notes discuss history results on startup even when the home page is off.
